Birth of the Red Army
The Red Army first rose against the tyranny of silence Thanksgiving weekend of 2002. We've been standing, yelling and "singing" ever since.

The Red Army Turns 5!

Thanksgiving week of 2007, the Red Army celebrated 5 years of fandom. Plans for a birthday party were scuttled, however, due to the senseless mall shooting at Westroads mall. Instead of celebrating the formation of a very active and close-knit fan group, members of the Red Army observed a period of silence and wore red and black ribbons created by member Jessica Sophir for the weekend's matchup.

Feb 9th, the saturday night game against Ohio State marked the official on-ice celebration of the Red Army's 5th birthday. BarbThompson and Rick Jeffries presented official Red Army Bowling Shirts to several UNO executives, including the Chancellor and Athletic Director. UNO honored the RA in turn with a surprise 5 minute video montage on the Qwest Center jumbotron. RA members stood in celebration in section 213 with party hats and festive noise makers.
